Black Friday Haul Favorites

Hey everyone! This was my first Black Friday shopping in the crowds and it was definitely a success!   My two best friends and I left around 6 to head to Tanger outlets and we also went to a town center near the outlets. We were at the outlets for about 5 hours and headed over to the town center where we shopped some more. Since the town center is so spread out, you have to drive around to get to different stores. When we were leaving one parking garage, we got stuck there for almost 3 hours trying to get out, it was a nightmare! Luckily, we only had to shop at a couple more places. We ended off the night getting a snack from Whole Foods and getting our favorite holiday drinks from Starbucks. I got a ton of great deals and I wanted to share some of my favorite purchases with you! Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hey Friends! Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for my family, my friends, god, and all of you! Today I am wearing one of my favorite outfits for the holidays. I wore the cutest scalloped skirt that I got from ASOS, a bow sweater from J. Crew Factory, my favorite pair of sparkle bow flats from J. Crew Factory and to top it off I wore one of my favorite headbands from Henri Bendel! This is such a great outfit for the holidays because not only is it comfortable but it is casual and dressed up at the same time. I will definitely be wearing it again this holiday season! It is so simple (only four pieces!) but looks so put together! I hope you all have a great thanksgiving, eat lots of pie and spend lots of $$ on all of the great sales tomorrow like me! Enjoy!

Beauty Products I'm Currently Loving

Hey Everyone! I'm so excited to share with you some of my favorite beauty products currently. I receive an ipsy bag each month for just $10 and it is always full of products I love! I decided I would share my favorites from the past few months in addition to a few other products I am really enjoying!

1. It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In
This summer I got my hair dyed bleach blonde and normally since my hair is already naturally a light blonde, my hair doesn't get damaged but it was a newer girl that did my hair and she completely bleached it and let it sit too long and my hair was ruined. It was crippling and falling apart, I was so upset! I tried everything and finally came across this leave in product and it is seriously a miracle! If you have damaged ends, I highly suggest this!

2. Bad, Baby Dry Shampoo Pen

I occasionally have a tendency to wake up late and not have time to shower. If I'm lucky I can throw on my makeup and go but I forget that my hair needs some fixing up. I love this dry shampoo pen because it's easy to take around with you and I think you can take it on a plane so it's perfect for traveling! It works great and doesn't have a dry shampoo smell!

3. Eva NYC Mane Magic

Like I said before, my hair was so damaged and I tried everything including this hair primer from Eva NYC. I love this stuff but I swear I go through it like water. It gives your hair a shiny look (even if its damaged!) and it repairs it! Not only does it make your hair look great but it smells amazing, like seriously, I want to buy all the Eva NYC products just for the scent!

4. Tarte Lashes
Lately I've been using Two Faces mascara and I absolutely hate trying mascaras because its such a hassle to find one I like since I have super long lashes. When I received this in my tipsy bag I was hesitant but when I put it on, it doesn't clump, it makes me lashes look amazing (I swear they look fake, thats what everyone says too!) and I only have to do one swipe of it!

5. Urban Decay Eyeliner
Okay, I am awful at putting eye liner on. I have tired everything from pencils to liquids to powders but I always seem to mess it up which then messes my eyeshadow up and then my foundation, you know what I mean. I got this in an ipsy bag and I gave it a try and I love it! It really just glides on! If you're struggling with finding an eyeshadow, I definitely recommend this one!

6. Naked Eyeshadow (Mother Nature no. 6)
A lot of times I don't bother with eyeshadow because it never lasts or it gets in the crease of my eyelid but I love this eyeshadow. It stays on amazing and I have no issues with it smudging through the day or getting in the crease. My only dislike though is that you only need a tiny bit but since it really is a powder rather than patted down, it gets all over your brush so keep that in mind.

7. Jane Iredale Liquid Eyeshadow

This is definitely a good eyeshadow to put on when you know you're going to be out for a long time. It's super simple to put on and it lasts throughout the day without fading or smudging. I also like it to use as a primer before putting a neutral eyeshadow on!

8. NYX Setting Spray Matte
I have had so many friends rave about this setting spray and it was only $7.00 so I decided I would try it out. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It keeps my makeup and foundation looking fresh all day long. I am so glad I bought it!

9. MAC Prep + Prime
I've never had much luck with primers but when I got this one in my ipsy bag and tried it, I loved it! It is a little pricey but definitely worth it and you only need a tiny bit so it's sure to last a long time! I definitely suggest it if your make up style is a more natural look!

I hope you liked this post, if you have any questions about any of the products feel free to leave a comment, shoot me an email or just DM me on Instagram! I'd be happy to help!

Gingham in the Fall

Hey Everyone! The weather has been amazing and it is definitely feeling like fall here in Ohio. I am loving all of the gorgeous Fall colors that are spotting the trees. The other day I went into a small historic district in a town near me. It's one of my favorite places to stop every now and then. The little shops are so cute and the houses are absolutely gorgeous! I love seeing the antique shops and all of the little boutiques. I can't wait to visit it in the Christmas time when they have all of their holiday parades and festivals. My shoes are from Jack Rogers and I was slightly hesitant about buying them because I wasn't sure how often I would wear them but I've been wearing them nonstop, I love them! I also wore one of my favorite vests from J. Crew factory which is in the Gingham pattern and the Teddie sweater from them also! I love this outfit because it is so comfortable, I definitely recommend it for when you go shopping or for a day trip with friends! Enjoy!

About Me

Hey Friends! I kind of jumped into my blog without really introducing myself so I thought I would share a little bit more about me now!

I am currently a College Freshman. I go to a small college in Ohio and I will be transferring to Liberty University next year. My planned major is strategic communications and I hope to work for a large scale fashion brand or a major news network like Fox News or CNN one day. As of right now I have two jobs that I absolutely love. I work at a boutique in a small historic town and I am also a canvasser for an organization that advocates for human rights.

I've lived in Ohio my whole life. I'll be honest, if I were to choose a state to live in, I don't think Ohio would even make the top 5 but it has a special place in my heart. I've always been so excited to move out of Ohio and go off to College. Last year when I was deciding about College I made the decision to stay in Ohio for a year before going to Virginia and it's definitely made me appreciate it so much more.

One of my hobbies is political activism, it's something I've been involved with since I was 6 years old. I do a lot of volunteering and interning on campaigns and I work with a lot of different organizations. Every year I go to a few political conferences and I have so much fun. For a long time politics was what I wanted to go into as a career and I saw it as my past, present and my future. As of right now, I remain unsure of where I stand in regards to politics being my future but I do know that it's something I'll always love and have some sort of passion for.

I love clothes. Always have, always will. My style has slightly changed throughout the years but my love for fashion has never wavered. Starting a fashion blog has always been something I've wanted to do but never felt ready. When I realized I didn't have the same passion for politics that I've always had, I decided to explore other passions I had and fashion was the first and only thing that came to mind. I bought a nice camera and started my blog on a whim and I have no regrets. I started my blog because I wanted to have a creative outlet to share my love for fashion. I love how it's my own little work of art that I get to share with others.

Thank you for reading my blog and letting me share my passion with you!

Coffee Date

Hey everyone! Every now and then it's nice to take a little time out of a busy day and grab a cup of coffee from your favorite coffee shop. My best friend and I went to the cutest little coffee shop in a town near us and got peppermint mochas to celebrate the Holiday Season approaching. (So excited for the Holidays!!) I wore my favorite J. Crew field jacket along with a black scallop camisole from J. Crew Factory underneath since it was a fairly warm day. I also wore my favorite Jack Rogers booties which I have practically been wearing non-stop since I got them. They are perfect for Fall days and the scallop detailing is so cute. I also wore my Kate Spade activity tracker which I love because I can wear it with any outfit and it matches great! I definitely prefer it over a fitbit. My purse is from Tory Burch and is one of my all time favorite outfit staples because I can use it year round. It's the perfect size and is simple yet classy. This is definitely one of my favorite casual outfits in the fall for the warmer days and I hope you like it too! Enjoy!

Getting the look for less

Hey everyone! I asked you guys last week how you would feel about a "getting the look for less" post and I got an overwhelming response to do so! I almost never buy anything full price simply because I know I don't have to. When I started buying higher end clothing, I realized how much money I was spending and so I decided to seek out ways to get the best deal I could. I am so excited to share these tips with you because they have helped me save A LOT of money on clothes and I know they will benefit you also! Enjoy!

1. Online Marketplace Apps

There are so many apps now that allow you to shop someone else's closet with the click of a button. I love shopping through different apps and websites because you can always find the best deal. Sometimes it can be time consuming to search for the best deal, but it definitely pays off (literally!) in the end when you see how much money you saved vs paying full price. Some of my favorite apps that I use are Poshmark, Mercari, and Tradesy. Not only can you buy clothes, but if you have clothes you were planning on getting rid, you can quickly list them and make some extra cash! At the end of the post I'll attach some referral links to get coupons/money off your first purchase when you join and some different coupon codes!

2. Thrift, thrift, thrift

A lot of people don't like thrifting because it takes time and energy or they just feel weirded out by the idea of used clothes but you would be surprised by what you can find by going to different thrift stores. I have found some of the greatest pieces at thrift stores for only a couple dollars. My cousin even found a pair of Hunter Boots at a Goodwill once for $5! (Fun tip! You can buy good deals that aren't your style and resell them to buy something you like! Exp. I found a pair of Birkenstocks for $5 and resold them for $50, a huge profit margin) One of my favorite things to do is check out the thrift stores when I'm in a big city because there's a better chance you'll find more higher end stuff. Some of my favorite clothing pieces have been found at thrift stores!

3. Shop Smart

One of my biggest pieces of advice that I could offer to someone who is trying to save some money when buying clothes is to shop smart. Here's a few of my tips when it comes to shopping smarter:

  • Never Impulse Buy: You will almost always regret buying the clothing or how much you spent on it. Instead, wait on it (if it's popular, keep a close eye on it so your size doesn't sell out) and when it goes on sale or there's a coupon you can use, buy it! There's a better chance you'll regret buying something in the heat of the moment than not buying it at all.

  • Shop outlet stores: I love shopping at different outlet stores by my favorite brands because I can get the clothing I love at an affordable price. One of my favorites is J. Crew factory but if there's something you like, watch it because the price changes on items a lot! Wait till it's at it's cheapest to buy it. If there's a brand you like (exp. vineyard vines, kate spade) and there isn't an outlet near you to purchase their stuff, no worries! You can call them and they'll email you pictures of anything you're interested in and you can order over the phone! How awesome is that!?

  • Use Coupons: I can't stress this enough. Unless you're shopping somewhere like Lilly Pulitzer, there is almost always a coupon out there that you can use. Even if it is just 10%, you're still saving a few dollars and over time that adds up. It's important to save money where you can and coupons are a great way to do that. If you're a student, don't be afraid to ask if there's a student discount at checkout since a lot of stores offer it.

  • Keep your eyes open: Just because one store sells something you want doesn't mean others don't. Before buying something you see at one store, do a search on the web to make sure you don't find it cheaper anywhere else. A lot of sites like 6PM and Zulily will sell brand name items at a cheaper price. I prefer 6PM because they have a lot of the brands I prefer, like Kate Spade and the Hunter Boot brand. I always do a quick look on there every now and then because they have some really great deals.

I hope that all of these tips for getting the look for less were helpful! I have gotten some of the best deals over the past few years using these methods. The only time I recommend paying full price for something is if it's really popular and will sell out quick or you need it immediately. If you use any of these methods, let me know how they worked for you by shooting me an email or leaving a comment! Also, below are the links I mentioned earlier to get discounts!
