Halloween Style Ideas

Hey everyone! I thought it would be fun to put together a few fun outfits for Halloween costumes this year! I always love the Fall season and seeing everyone get dressed up for Halloween, while I personally don't go all out with costumes, I do like to still do a little something and thats kind of how these costumes are! I did a few of my favorite characters from movies/tv shows so enjoy and I hope you can an idea from them!

Life Update

Hey friends! This post is definitely long overdue. As much as I wish I haven't been, I've definitely been off the grid lately. There has been quite a few changes in my life over the past six months that have really turned my life upside down and I've just been trying to roll with it the best that I can.

This August, I planned on finally going off to Virginia to start my sophomore year of college at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA but then again how often do things really ever go the way we plan? In this case, they definitely didn't. One thing I've always been sure I want when I am off at school is a car which my parents planned on providing for me so I can save for one of my own during those years. Unfortunately, my parents were providing that car to my brother before me and he ended up in a wreck with it and it was completely totaled. At the time I was absolutely devastated, once again my plans for college hit a huge roadblock. I honestly had no idea what I was going to do for a few months. Eventually I came to the realization about a month ago that I should just stay at home for one more semester taking online classes so I can work more and save for a car. I've always made sure that the decisions I make will be most beneficial even if it isn't the most ideal and this was one of those decisions. So yet again, I find myself scrolling through social media completely jealous seeing my friends head back off to College while I'm still at home but another semester won't hurt!

So for the Fall Semester I am currently enrolled at Liberty University Online taking classes and working three jobs, yes three jobs. My work weeks average around 60-70 hours which I can imagine will decrease some once classes start so I can stay on top of my studies. I've been trying to find a good balance between work, extracurriculars, hobbies etc. and where blogging fits into all of it. Blogging is something I absolutely love doing and would do all the time if I could, unfortunately it never is able to fit into my schedule. As I stared at my planner last night trying to figure out where I could fit it in (because it was definitely making it's way in there), I realized just because I can't do it during the day doesn't mean I can't do it during the night. My days lately have consisted of working at least two jobs everyday, sometimes all three and so my nights will start to consist of blogging. For some that's really stretching themselves to thin but for me I think it's the perfect balance.

I love all of my jobs so much but it's nice to relax at the end of a long day and just do something for me. One question I'm asked almost every day is 'What made you decide not to go into politics?' since anyone who knows me knows I was involved in politics for 10+ years. My answer every time is that I don't really know but I realized I do know. I realized I found something I loved more than politics and it changed everything for me. The thing I loved more was Fashion & Marketing and I found that out through starting a blog which makes blogging a huge priority for me now.

All in all, while things definitely haven't turned out the way I've wanted them to, I can't help but still feel so blessed about all of it. Even though I have to work like crazy for a car, I'll still go off to College not only in a car I love but also one of my own. I'll definitely feel more ready for College and my tuition is a lot cheaper this semester by taking online classes. I have more time to spend with family and friends before I'm 500 miles away from them. And on top of it all, I get to blog a lot more and do what I love instead of trying to settle in at a whole new college in a new town. I'm constantly learning that my plan for me isn't always what God has planned and through it all, I need to trust in him. So heres to staying optimistic & blessed all while trusting in God through the good and bad.

Currently Coveting No. 2

Hey friends! So glad to publish another 'Currently Coveting' post. I absolutely love writing these and sharing all my current favorites, goes to show just how much I shop online! I've bene loving a lot of pink lately. Not sure if its because I'm about to go back to blonde and I'm just really feeling the whole legally blonde theme or what but it's definitely been in lots of my favorites lately. Like I can't get over how cute these Tory Burch sneakers are, seriously, so cute! I love them for Spring & Summer but also to wear in the fall to add pops of color. And I can't get over the pink gingham tank, it's all my favorite styles in one and it's pink! I'm also heading to Charleston next week and since I'll be by the beach, I think it's only acceptable to have a SEA sweater right? This one from Loft is so classic and it's 50% off right now, it doesn't get better than that! Also can't get over the button down jeans, they are incredible. I tried them on at J. Crew a few months ago and clearly they were that amazing if I'm still talking about them, right?! Definitely buying them for fall! And my all time favorite, the button down top from Carolina Clothing Company, every detail is gorgeous. From the bell sleeves to the stripes to the ruffle collar, what's not to love? And you can get 10% off with code PrettyInPearls10! This weeks favorites are definitely in my to buy list because there is so many good deals and all so versatile! Enjoy!

Life After High School

When it comes to life after high school, some look at those four years and think of the toxic friendships and bitter words, the words said behind your back and the judgements made towards you. They choose to look at those years of their life and pretend they never existed but it won't change the fact that they happened and just how much their life changed in those years. From the moment you walk through those doors your freshman year to the day you walk out of them your senior year, you're a completely different person. You look different, you act different and you carry yourself differently. Face it, the words said, the experiences, the friendships you made or lost, they changed you. You can choose to ignore that they happened but one day you'll appreciate how they helped shape you into the person you are today.

There may have been some point where I felt this way but looking back, I entered High School as an extremely quiet and shy girl who struggled to make friends and was severely struggling with depression to a girl who made friends with everyone and who had a smile on her face and laughed all the time. But while those years in High School changed you, the years after count just as much. Because one you step off that stage at graduation, diploma in hand, suddenly you're much older and the word 'High School' becomes the past. A term you'll only use when your describing what used to be, you find yourself saying 'back in High School' more than you thought you ever would like it was years and years ago. And maybe it was, or maybe it was only one or two years ago. Fact is, when you step off that stage, you do become older.

If you ask me, when you step off that stage, you can either be older and more mature or you can act the same, the choice is up to you. I've seen it go both ways. I've seen my friends work hard towards their goals, you can see that they're more mature just through the way they act and the decisions they make. But I've also seen others act just the same way they did in High School. It's the bitter words they say and frivolous actions they take that tell you they haven't grown. They say High School prepares you for the real world and in some ways it does, but in a lot of ways it doesn't. You see, High School does change you but after it ends, you're either still stuck there mentally or you've moved on. That doesn't mean you can't stay close to your High School friends and look back on those  High School years as some of the greatest and worst. It just means each action you take now defines you because its not just those within your High School watching and listening, it's everyone around you. When you walked out those doors and stepped off that stage, so did everyone else. Each action you take and every word you say, it's not just a fellow classmate listening to you, it's most likely someone who's grown and matured. So if you haven't grown like they have, well, it shows.

I realized then, not everyone changes right after High School. Some of us stay there mentally for a while and still act the same as we did. While the rest of us go on and try to be different, to grow and be more mature. We're all taking our paths of life one at a time and some of us go slower than others. That doesn't excuse the bitter words and petty actions we still see but it gives an understanding. None of us are perfect, we all have our flaws and we're all growing in our own separate ways. Just know that after High School, your actions speak a lot louder than they used to, especially to those who knew you in High School.

There's not many words that describe life after High School because it's different for everyone but just know that it counts. It counts far more than you can imagine. Here's to growing, becoming better everyday and taking it all one step at a time.

New Year's Resolutions Update: How I'm Doing

It's so crazy to think that we're already more than halfway through 2018, it seems like just yesterday I was with my best friends drinking sparkling juice with my favorite boursin cheese & crackers and ringing in the new year. They're really right when they say time flies. The other day I was thinking about my New Years resolutions and whether I'm achieving them or not. Most people forget about theirs at the end of January but there's a few I've been really working on this years, some kind of and others I have forgotten about. In case you didn't see them or don't remember them, here they are below!

So, how have I done on them? Lets take a look!

1. I've really been trying to work on this one lately but I'm still struggling. I have been getting out more outfit posts which I really like but I want to be more committed to blogging. I decided the other day I wanted to have at least 3-4 posts a week. This may mean some late nights or early mornings but it's something I love so I don't mind making time for it!

2. Okay, this is definitely one of those ones I've put on the back burner. Honestly? I completely forgot about it! Now that I see it though, I'm ready to get back on the reading train. I used to read all the time, and I mean all the time (we're talking at least a book a day, probably 5 a week!), I just love it but lately I've been really busy so I guess that something else I'll make time for!

3. This one is definitely a success! This year I've gone on some mini trips along with going to Washington D.C., Mackinac Island and I'll be on my way to Charleston in a couple weeks (SO excited!!). And in the Fall, I'm planning on taking a couple more trips!

4. Another one I'm still working on but getting there! Everyones walk in faith is different and we all grow in our own ways. I've definitely grown more in my relationship with god but I'm still struggling with sharing it more publicly on my blog because I've always been a private person and my faith is a more personal thing but when I do share a faith post, with each one (and I've written a lot unposted) I grow in my faith. Sometimes that publish button is where I get stuck and I need to work on that.

5. Success! This summer I've been spending more time with my best friends, in fact we just went to the pool and got dinner together. We all want to spend more time together this summer so while we've been working, we're also making time for each other!

6. This one, I really don't know how well I'm doing. Today I drank green tea but yesterday I had coffee so it's kind of 50/50, here's to green tea the rest of the week!

7. Definitely failing this one. I am ALWAYS in a rush, whether I'm rushing to work or to meet friends, theres never a moment to take a break. I was listening to the radio the other day and the song Just Breathe came on and I thought 'wow, I need to hear this more often'. Now it's in my saved songs because there are some days I really need to hear that. Moving forward, I need to wake up earlier and give myself more time to get myself together and then I can take a breath and smell the flowers.

8. Fail. So need to work on it though! I want to eat better consistently which means prepped and cooked meals and healthier baked goods so this one is going to get better for sure.

9. Success! Sometimes I just put the phone away, sit on the porch and enjoy the weather or spend time with friends without checking Instagram or twitter every five minutes and it is so nice. (Even nicer when it's a whole day!!)

10. Working on this one but I'd say so far, so good! My best friends and I try to spend our Fridays and days off together and I think some are filled with new adventures and I love it. It's always something new and we're always planning the next one!

11. This one is sometimes a success and sometimes a failure. I need to get into a constant eating healthy and exercising instead of just when I feel like it. It's a bad habit that I want to break. I actually decided early I wanted to eat strictly healthy and them start moving forward to a consistent workout instead of a sporadic one. I plan on sticking to it and I'll blog about it too! Even going to a barre class Friday!

12. Working on it. I'm thankful for the big things but sometimes I struggle being thankful for the small things or when things don't go exactly my way. I forget how lucky I am for so many reasons and I want to change this, I think I need to reflect on the small things more often.

So far, I am succeeding in a couple, working on a few and failing a couple. I'm hoping to really focus on them these next few weeks and really dedicate myself to being better, maybe work on two a week and build on them after. New Year's resolutions are so easy to write but much harder to carry out. I hope to work on these not just these next few weeks but these next six months. I hope to come back to this topic in December with results like how much weight I've lost, how many books I've read and how I haven't had coffee in months. For now, we'll be thankful for where I'm at (already doing great with 12)!

Happy Fourth of July!

Hey everyone! I can't believe its already the Fourth of July, one of my favorite holidays! I always love spending the day with family and enjoying the day off. This past weekend I had some friends over for a picnic to celebrate the holiday and it was so much fun! I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen for quite a while so I really loved that. We had so much delicious food and I'm sharing some of my favorite recipe from it below as well as some pictures!

For the Fourth of July I wore one of my new favorite tops I got from Lauren James along with the cutest pair of white denim shorts from Free People. I can't recommend Free People shorts enough, they are so comfortable, not too tight and always look so cute! I paired it with my new straw bag I got along with a festive glasses necklace and my favorite white jack rogers. Enjoy!

Currently Coveting No. 1

Hey everyone! I have been so out of it lately and I think it's due to the drastic changes in weather we've been having here in Ohio. One day its 95 and super sunny and the next day we're having complete thunderstorms and then its 70 and cloudy. I'm finally getting back up to speed and with these rainy days I've been writing some blog posts. I love online shopping (but really, who doesn't?!) so I thought I would start a new series on the blog called Currently Coveting with lots of things I've seen online that I've been eyeing or I recently purchased. I want to try and do this every week or every two weeks, we'll just have to see how it all works out. Hopefully you like the first one, enjoy!

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Hey everyone! The other day my best friend and I decided to take advantage of the great summer weather and go to the cutest little market down the street from us. I was especially excited to see the greenhouse they had and all the gorgeous flowers, it did not disappoint! There was so many beautiful flowers, I couldn't decide which to buy! After exploring the greenhouse, we went inside and got a cup of ice cream to enjoy. It was such a fun day to go exploring one of our favorite markets and so I wore one of my favorite outfits right now! J. Crew finally brought back my absolute favorite shorts and they come in navy, pink and white! (For sizing, I would size down from your normal size, I got an XS and they don't look right when they wrinkle but I think if I got a size smaller, it would look fine!) Along with the shorts, I wore a pink and white stripe shirt also from J. Crew and to top it off, the cutest Kate Spade necklace with my usual bracelets. I also recently purchased my purse from Kate Spade and it was money well spent. I absolutely adore it, it is quickly becoming my favorite cross body and go-to! It was such a fun day and I will definitely be wearing this outfit throughout the summer! Enjoy!

(You also may be wondering why my hair is my red all the sudden! Funny story (kind of!), a couple weeks back I got my hair dyed strawberry blonde with highlights. My hair stylist reccomended getting shampoo & conditioner for red hair so I picked some up on my way home from work one day. After using it, I was drying my hair and it looked pink! Turns out the conditioner I bought had pomegranate extract in it and turned the blonde highlights pink. The next morning I called a hair salon near me to get it fixed ASAP so here I am with strawberry blonde hair and no highlights! Needless to say, even though it was a horrible mistake, I can't help but love my new hair!)

20 before 20

It's crazy to think that just a week ago I turned 19. They're right when they say life is too short, it comes by so quickly, you never have the chance to enjoy whats right in front of you. The past year has been a whirlwind for me but nevertheless, it's also been incredible. From losing my passion for politics to gaining a new one, to starting my first year of college (even if it was more than slightly unconventional), to the amazing internships and jobs, to the amazing friendships I've made along the way, I am truly blessed. That being said, this past year has flown by so quickly, I never felt like I had the chance to see myself grow or to really enjoy being eighteen. I don't want that to happen this year, after all next year I'll be turning 20 and I'll technically no longer be a 'teen'. Determined to not let this next year pass in the blink of an eye, I've put together a list of 20 things I want to do before I turn 20.
1. Take a Road Trip

2. Completely unplug for 24 hours

3. Become financially stable

4. Build my resume

5. Do some volunteering

6. Photograph the memories

7. Pull a (fun) all nighter with friends

8. Watch the sunrise, coffee in hand

9. Step outside my comfort zone [a lot]

10. Start a diary

11. Have a treat yourself kind of day

12. Fall in love (or at least have a first kiss)

13. Finally go to College out of state

14. Grow my hair out (or just don't cut it)

15. Read the entire bible front to back

16. Try to repair any toxic friendships
instead of cutting them out

17. Break a bad habit, start a good one

18. Face a fear head on

19. Apply for my current dream job/internship

20. Realize that I may have my whole life ahead of me
but to stop focusing on the future and live in the now

Strolling in Eyelet

Hey Everyone! This past weekend I took a trip to Mackinac Island for the first time with my grandpa, cousin and aunt! The weather in Ohio has been so hot so it was nice to get away to some nice cool weather. Mackinac Island is located in Michigan along right in Lake Huron and is one of the prettiest and unique places I've ever been! I'm working on a recap post of my trip and I can't wait to share it! Since the weather was in the 50's to mid 60's, I opted for wearing some of my favorite outfits for Spring weather. On our last day, we decided to see some of our favorite spots before leaving including some of the shops, the Grand Hotel (which is absolutely gorgeous!), and we went on a small bike ride! The weather was so incredible and it was the perfect way to end the trip.

I wore my favorite Lilly skort that is so comfortable with a scallop camisole from J. Crew Factory. This camisole is one of my favorite spring and summer staples because it goes with all my favorite shorts and can be dressed up or down. I paired it with a denim jacket from J. Crew factory a few years back (linked an identical one from madewell!) since the weather had a little chill to it. And of course since I dockside, I had to wear my favorite KJP jewelry including my favorite necklace, gold rope anchor bracelet and Atlantic pearl bracelet in Navy! To top off the outfit I wore my favorite statement sunglasses from Kate Spade and the cutest pair of bow shoes from Target that are under $25! Enjoy!

So excited to find the market on the island had my favorite ginger ale! And how cute are these shoes?!

Skort (Mine is old Lilly, linked a similar one!) | Top | Jacket (Old J. Crew, linked similar one!) | Pearl Bracelet | Knot Bracelet | Pearl Necklace | Monogram Necklace (Similar) | Crossbody (Similar) | Sunglasses | Shoes | Earrings

Finding your Passion

For a long time, I never really had that struggle a lot of people do of finding their passion. I'd already figured it out at just 6 years old. I grew up with a passion for politics and making a difference, I always planned on politics being my past, my present and my future. Growing up, especially in high school, a lot of my peers really struggled with finding what they wanted to do with their life. I was constantly told how lucky I was that I knew what I wanted to do and I never really did understand why. Looking back, everything did come easy to me because I had a huge part of my life all figured out. When I had to build my resume, or find an internship, or even when I ever had to introduce myself for something, it all related to politics. I now understand why people thought I was so lucky, everything came so easy to me while my friends and peers were stuck in the limbo of should I do this or should I do that? It's difficult deciding what you want to do, its a huge decision to decide what you want your future to look like. I know that because I was in that position just a few months ago.

Deciding I wouldn't go into politics was a difficult decision and one that took a few months to make. In those few months I was really able to relate to how my friends felt in high school. I had a choice to make and one that ultimately would effect the rest of my life. For those that knew I was struggling with this decision, most thought it was an easy one because I clearly had the background and experience for politics so I should go with politics. Long story short, I didn't. I didn't because I felt let to pursue a different career and because I felt it was a decision I would later regret. Ultimately, I just want to do something I love and looking back, I felt so awful not knowing what to do but not I have feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. So enough about me, here's how I found my passion and if you're stuck trying to figure out what to do, how you can find yours!

1. Take Risks
Whether its starting a blog, starting your own etsy shop, or applying for an internship, go for it! Sometimes all you have to do is take a step in what you feel is the right direction. Maybe you have a passion for fashion or cooking, channel that passion through a blog. Maybe you're wanting to learn more about engineering, apply for an internship related to that. Maybe you love creative design and really have a talent for it, start an etsy shop. Not everyone succeeds on the first try but if you never try, you'll never know if its what you're meant to do. If you never take risks, you'll never know what could have been. Don't do what everyone else around you is doing because you're too scared to do what you want to do, go for it and don't look back. You won't feel passionate about what you're doing unless it what you want to do, not what someone else wants to do.

2. Be You
Don't let what someone else wants to do be what you want to do because chances are, it really isn't what you want to do. If you do what someone else is doing, they'll eventually take notice of that. Don't get me wrong, people who have the same passions generally love being around each other but they also know when the passion isn't there too. When the passion isn't there for you but it is for them, it normally becomes increasingly frustrating for them to pursue their passion knowing someone close to them is pursuing whatever they're doing minus the passion. It often becomes not just two pursuing a passion but also pursuing a passion the exact same way and you might not notice that happen, but if you do, know it's not your passion.

3.Explore your Options
Take a look at what you love and write it down. It can be a sport you really enjoy sports or maybe you love fashion. Then look at everything you've written down and pick your top three that you could read 100 books on and not be bored. Look into each of those three and see what you can do to explore those passions. For example, if you wrote down sports, see if you can shadow someone who works for your cities baseball team or see if you like the medical side of sport with training or physical therapy. With every passion, comes lots of opportunities. When I was involved with politics, I found that I could have gone into journalism, activism, policy, campaigns, consulting etc. There was so many oppurtunities to get involved in however I saw fit.

4. Know what you don't like
Do you hate reading factual information or hate sitting all day? Finding out what you don't want to do within a career will really help narrow down what you're passionate about. If you don't like sitting at a desk all day, then maybe typical white collar work isn't for you. If you know what you hate doing then it's easier to find what you love doing.

5. Do What You Want To do
You'll never be happy if everything you do is to please somebody else, plain and simple. We're all passionate about something but so often, people don't choose that passion because someone didn't want them to. Don't let other people define what you do because at the end of the day, it's your life and not theirs. You're the one who will either be upset with the outcome or happy with the outcome.

6. It Doesn't Have to be a Job
Everyone thinks when they have a passion, it has to ultimately be there career or they can't pursue it. Sometimes when you have a passion for something, it takes time to grow and in the meantime you work another job. While it seems like a lot of work, when you're passionate about it, a little hard work won't stand in your way.

7. It's not a Lightbulb Moment
Everybody thinks they'll have this eureka moment where they know exactly what they want to do but for the most part, it's going to take time. You won't know exactly what you're passionate about until you explore it. One of the best pieces of advice I had when trying to find my passion was, "If it's not working, quit fast". You'll know its not for you if you can't work with it and it's time to explore something new. Just keep trying, you'll get there.

So here's to pursuing our dreams, ambitions, and goals. Here's to exploring our old passions and new passions. And here's to finding what we're passionate about. Best of luck to you if you're on your way to finding what your passionate about because it isn't an easy thing but it's amazing when you find it!

Letting God Take Control

For as long as I can remember, I've always been a planner. I plan my days, what I want to buy, my outfits (days in advance), what I want to get done whenever I go out, weekly meal plans, etc. Basically if you can plan it, then there's a pretty good chance I do. Lately I've been realizing just how much I put into planning everything that I do. For example, I plan my days almost by the hour and I'm constantly making a plan of everything I want or need to do when I go out. When I want to go out with friends, I'm always planning everything we should do but. Lately, I think God's been showing me that when I look back on the really enjoyable times I've had, they've always ended up being the ones that happened in the moment. In fact, I'm constantly planning blog posts but the ones that are my favorite are the ones I just ended up writing in the moment (including this one).

A few months ago I was driving home from work and saw a sign that said "Let god take the steering wheel and you take the passenger seat." I've increasingly been trying to apply this to my life. I think as humans, we each have a plan for our life that we want to follow but God always has an even greater plan that sees far beyond what we can imagine. For as long as I can remember, I saw my life having a career in politics but it wasn't till recently this changed and politics was no longer my passion. I've always felt as if I had a strong hold on my life and where it was going up until that point. I realized how lost I was in what I was going to do with my life and in that moment I turned to God. I think we all try to pile way more on our plate than we can handle and then when it comes time to handle it, we aren't necessarily sure what to do. Lately, I've been working on being stronger in my faith and trusting in God. I've been trying to let him take the steering wheel while I take the passenger seat but letting go of that steering wheel has been very difficult as it would be for anyone.

Trusting in God isn't something that comes easy, it takes surrendering your life to God and fully believing he knows whats best. Isaiah 41:10 says "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." When I started to let God really take control of my life, I found myself praying more and I could feel myself becoming a different person in the ways that I treat others and how I carry myself. I found myself doing what I knew was the right thing to do instead of denying that it was right and that I should do it. I've become less judgmental and more understanding. Don't get me wrong though, it's not like I don't feel anxious or hesitant sometimes when it comes to letting God take control. I constantly struggle with an anxious feeling of not knowing whats to come and I'm always reminding myself that God has big plans in my future and to trust in him. I really relate to Psalm 94:19 “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.”

I'm not perfect, nobody is and I'm definitely not perfect when it comes to my relationship with christ. I have my ups and downs just like anybody else but in those down times, God has always been my anchor. There is purpose and there is a meaning in every struggle and every celebration, and God is there along the way. There's a lot of different ways that you can begin to let God into your life and really start to let him take control, here's a few of the ways that really made a difference for me and in my life.

  • Try to look at things in Gods eyes. As you go through your daily life, start looking at how you view different situations. The different judgements you make about someone or how you confront an issue in your life. What would Jesus do in that situation? When you do this, it really opens your eyes to how you look at the world but it also helps you to drastically improve the way you've been living and gives you a change of heart and clear eyes.

  • Take time and Pray. There isn't a better way to become more connected with God than praying. Pray for the big things and the little things. Pray for the friend who's struggling or the person you see in the grocery store. Pray for guidance in the big steps in life and the small ones. By praying you're not only becoming closer with God but you're also deepening your trust in him.

  • Be patient and calm. It's extremely easy to become impatient and anxious when you feel like you have no control. I've found the easiest way to calm my anxiousness is just by opening my bible and reading God's word. You also have to remember that there is going to be tough times and thing aren't always going to come easy. You have to really put your trust in god and know that he's knows whats best, remember good things take time.

Spring Bucketlist

Hey everyone! While the weather is denying it, it is soon to be the first day of Spring and hopefully the weather will agree for once! Since it's almost officially Spring, I created a bucket list of all the things I'd like to do before Summer time. While I am looking forward to summer with no school work and lots of fun in the sun, spring is my favorite season because all the flowers bloom, the leaves return and the weather is perfect! That being said, here is my bucket list, enjoy!

To the High School Senior

To the High School Senior,

It's about that time of year, you've applied to all the colleges on your list, you're waiting to hear back, and graduation can't come soon enough. You only have a few months left yet they seem like the longest months ever, you're definitely dealing with a severe case of senioritis and you're really excited for college next year. Maybe your friends are receiving their acceptance letters and you have yet to recieve any feedback on your applications or maybe your stuck between two schools, don't worry so much, I promise it will all work out.

You may be wanting the time to fly by and for graduation to come quicker, trust me, I know I did. But remember, these are your last few months of high school, the last few months you'll get to see your classmates and your friends everyday. When college comes, you won't get to see these people everyday, in fact you might not see them at all. Make these last few months count. You don't want to look back and think you wish you could go back and see everyone all together just one more time. High School only happens once, its four years of your life that you love or you might hate but they're also the years where you grow into someone who's more mature, who's ready to take on college and their career, someone who has bigger goals and aspirations. It's four years where you walk out a completely different person than when you entered. It's four years where you ultimately decide your future and who you want to be.

I hope these past few years have been amazing for you, let these next few months be amazing too. I know you're probably putting off schoolwork as much as possible or it's a huge struggle to get through it but you can do it. You only have a few months left and you're done. But don't let schoolwork be everything you do, make sure you spend time with your friends, especially those who won't be close next year. Maybe you plan on going out of state for college, spend time with your family and enjoy these months in your hometown. If you don't feel ready to go out of state, you have nothing to worry about. I didn't feel ready either. Instead, take a year off or go to community college for a year and then transfer. That one year will really make a difference in who you become and you'll definitely change for the better and be ready for college out of state. If you're struggling with your last year of College, always feel free to reach out to me via social media or my email, I'm always willing to help whenever I can.

Make the summer before college count. Think of it as your last couple months as a teenager. Come August you'll be back in the school supplies aisle grabbing your own supplies without a list and at the school bookstore paying a ridiculous amount of money for textbooks. You'll be choosing your classes and finding a schedule that works for you. Spend this summer with your friends, your family, anyone your close to because who knows when you'll see them again. Make a bucket list and cross everything off on it before summer ends and take lots of pictures so it's a summer you'll never forget.

Lastly, it's okay to be concerned. These are the last few months before you have to become independent and not rely on others. Where you no longer have your parents to guide you on everything you do and where you have to step out on your own in new situations without a friend alongside you. Maybe you're going off to College but you don't know anybody else going there, you're scared to make new friends and start all over again. I promise that College will be just as great as high school, in fact it will be better but you just have to put yourself out there and really go for your aspirations and goals. It's okay to be concerned and it's okay to be scared. We've all been there. Start putting yourself out there now, take those risks you've never let yourself take and start pushing yourself to not only do more but to do better.  These four years you spend in High School have really developed you into the person you've become and you've become comfortable in the environment you're in but I promise these next four years will be unforgettable.

Current Skincare Faves

Hey everyone! For the first time in a long time, my face is completely clear of everything, from acne to redness, and it feel amazing. Lately, I've been using some new skincare products which contribute to how clear my skin has been. I wanted to share with you what I've been using and the benefits of each one Enjoy!

I bought this from Madewell since I had a coupon and I absolutely love it. I usually get really dry lips and I turn to burts bees lip balm but this lip scrub has been a game changer. It makes my lips feel soft and hydrated.

I got a sample of this from Loccitane and it feels amazing and is great for under my eyes. It's really helped with puffiness and dark circles. I got a small sample of it around Christmas time but still have tons left so while it is pricey, it lasts a very long time.

When I use this face cleanse, my face feels so soft and one small package last me 3 face washes. I have sensitive skin and this doesn't bother it, it really helps with the redness my skin gets and my face feels amazing.

I bought this on a whim when I was out of town and I am amazed by how well it works. It really hydrates my skin and makes it look amazing. It also smells fantastic and helps my face look refreshed after a long day.

I won't lie, I had pretty low expectations of how well these would work but boy was I wrong! These really do work like they say and really hydrate my face unlike a lot of sprays. I would highly recommend them if you find yourself having dry skin.

I got this creme in an ipsy bag and its fantastic! It makes my skin feel clean and hydrated. I'm also a big believer in a lot of teas for skin care so I think the green tea is a huge contribution to how well it works.

I saw a lot of people raving about these masks so when I was out one day shopping and saw a Loccitane store, I bought a few. The sales lady was so sweet and gave me a lot of other samples of their products as well and I am now a huge fan of Loccitane. These masks are amazing, the different is definitely visible and I can't even begin to describe how well they work, I 100% high recommend buying them! Linked is my favorite of the ones they have!
