Currently Coveting No. 1

Hey everyone! I have been so out of it lately and I think it's due to the drastic changes in weather we've been having here in Ohio. One day its 95 and super sunny and the next day we're having complete thunderstorms and then its 70 and cloudy. I'm finally getting back up to speed and with these rainy days I've been writing some blog posts. I love online shopping (but really, who doesn't?!) so I thought I would start a new series on the blog called Currently Coveting with lots of things I've seen online that I've been eyeing or I recently purchased. I want to try and do this every week or every two weeks, we'll just have to see how it all works out. Hopefully you like the first one, enjoy!

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Hey everyone! The other day my best friend and I decided to take advantage of the great summer weather and go to the cutest little market down the street from us. I was especially excited to see the greenhouse they had and all the gorgeous flowers, it did not disappoint! There was so many beautiful flowers, I couldn't decide which to buy! After exploring the greenhouse, we went inside and got a cup of ice cream to enjoy. It was such a fun day to go exploring one of our favorite markets and so I wore one of my favorite outfits right now! J. Crew finally brought back my absolute favorite shorts and they come in navy, pink and white! (For sizing, I would size down from your normal size, I got an XS and they don't look right when they wrinkle but I think if I got a size smaller, it would look fine!) Along with the shorts, I wore a pink and white stripe shirt also from J. Crew and to top it off, the cutest Kate Spade necklace with my usual bracelets. I also recently purchased my purse from Kate Spade and it was money well spent. I absolutely adore it, it is quickly becoming my favorite cross body and go-to! It was such a fun day and I will definitely be wearing this outfit throughout the summer! Enjoy!

(You also may be wondering why my hair is my red all the sudden! Funny story (kind of!), a couple weeks back I got my hair dyed strawberry blonde with highlights. My hair stylist reccomended getting shampoo & conditioner for red hair so I picked some up on my way home from work one day. After using it, I was drying my hair and it looked pink! Turns out the conditioner I bought had pomegranate extract in it and turned the blonde highlights pink. The next morning I called a hair salon near me to get it fixed ASAP so here I am with strawberry blonde hair and no highlights! Needless to say, even though it was a horrible mistake, I can't help but love my new hair!)

20 before 20

It's crazy to think that just a week ago I turned 19. They're right when they say life is too short, it comes by so quickly, you never have the chance to enjoy whats right in front of you. The past year has been a whirlwind for me but nevertheless, it's also been incredible. From losing my passion for politics to gaining a new one, to starting my first year of college (even if it was more than slightly unconventional), to the amazing internships and jobs, to the amazing friendships I've made along the way, I am truly blessed. That being said, this past year has flown by so quickly, I never felt like I had the chance to see myself grow or to really enjoy being eighteen. I don't want that to happen this year, after all next year I'll be turning 20 and I'll technically no longer be a 'teen'. Determined to not let this next year pass in the blink of an eye, I've put together a list of 20 things I want to do before I turn 20.
1. Take a Road Trip

2. Completely unplug for 24 hours

3. Become financially stable

4. Build my resume

5. Do some volunteering

6. Photograph the memories

7. Pull a (fun) all nighter with friends

8. Watch the sunrise, coffee in hand

9. Step outside my comfort zone [a lot]

10. Start a diary

11. Have a treat yourself kind of day

12. Fall in love (or at least have a first kiss)

13. Finally go to College out of state

14. Grow my hair out (or just don't cut it)

15. Read the entire bible front to back

16. Try to repair any toxic friendships
instead of cutting them out

17. Break a bad habit, start a good one

18. Face a fear head on

19. Apply for my current dream job/internship

20. Realize that I may have my whole life ahead of me
but to stop focusing on the future and live in the now

Current Obsession: Green Gingham

Hey everyone! Summer is finally here and lately I've been wearing some of my favorite summer prints including stripes and gingham. I am especially loving green gingham this season and all the fun  styles I'm seeing. I thought I would start sharing different obsessions for different trends that I have on the blog and what better one to start with than green gingham! There is so many cute styles out and I can't wait to see what ones are coming out this summer. I especially love the high neck top from  J. Crew Factory (1), its such a great top for the hot summer weather. I'm also loving the green gingham shoes from talbots (3), they pair perfectly with a white dress! And I can't get over the green gingham dress from J. Crew Factory (8), its actually a girls but if you get a 14 the it fits like an x-small or a 16 for size small (seriously, some of the girls clothing at J. Crew Factory, they need to make in womens!!). Anyways, I am absolutely loving green gingham and wanted to share my favorites! Enjoy!

Mackinac Recap

Hey everyone! If you've been watching my Instagram stories then you know that I recently visited Mackinac Island located in Lake Huron Michigan. I went with my grandpa, cousin and aunt and it was such a fun time. I planned the trip back in February to originally go with my grandma and grandpa to spend some time with them since I would be going off to College in August and my cousin would be studying abroad next semester. Unfortunately, my grandma wasn't feeling well so she couldn't go but luckily my Aunt was able to so it was nice to be able to spend some time with her!

Mackinac Island was more gorgeous and unique than I could have ever imagined. It is the cutest little city with so much charm and history to it. We stayed in the cutest little bed and breakfast called the Cloghaun which was built in 1884 and is still decorated true to its time. Every room within the home is unique and has its own name. We stayed in the Anna which had two beds and its own bathroom. The home also had the cutest sitting area to watch TV or read a book and the dining area was so nice.

There are so many historical and gorgeous places to visit on the island including the Grand Hotel. We didn't go inside the Grand Hotel but we definitely spent a lot of time exploring around it. There was also an ice cream parlor connected to it where we had the best banana split!

We ate at some of the tastiest restaurants including Millie's, Yankee Rebel, Chuck Wagon, and Good Fellows. I highly recommend all of them! They were all so good and the service was great! One of my favorite things we did was take a bike ride around the island and see a few of the landmarks including Arch Rock. I also loved seeing Mission Point and looking at their gift shop where they sell some of my favorite brands including KJP and the Nantucket Brand!

Obsessed with this dress from KJP!

On the last day we went to the little shops and bought some souvenirs for ourselves and for friends, bought more fudge and explored the Grand Hotel once more.

Overall, it was such a fun trip and I hope to go back again next year. Going to Mackinac has been something I've always wanted to do as a little girl and it did not disappoint! If you haven't taken a trip to Mackinac and are considering it, I highly recommend going!

Pretty in Pearly Whites: Teeth Whitening at Home

Hey friends! This year, I've been working on taking better care of my body through healthy eating, regular skincare, and much more. One thing I really wanted to improve upon was the constant struggle I have with yellowing teeth. For as long as I can remember, I consistently struggled with trying to whiten my teeth. From activated charcoal to whitening strips to baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, I tried everything and nothing I tried ever gave me the result I was looking for. While each attempt didn't cost much, the amount of money I've spent in total on failed attempts is about the same amount I would pay for a result that would actually work. I have spent so much time searching for a whitening treatment to really give me that pearly white result I want and I'm so excited to share I've finally found one! So before you go and spend money on different treatments that are likely to fail like I did, check out this option first. I promise you it's worth it!

As a religious coffee and tea drinker, I was a little skeptical to try yet another whitening treatment but I decided to give the teeth whitening company Smile Brilliant a try and let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions. Not only did I notice results within days after starting treatment but it was so simple to get started.

So how does it work? First you'll purchase what package you'd like depending on how stained your teeth are. You'll then be sent materials to make your own impressions for custom fitted teeth whitening trays in addition to being sent the syringes for the whitening process. After creating and sending in the impressions, you'll receive your teeth whitening trays in the mail. Once you get your trays in the mail, you're then all set to start the whitening process! The whitening process is pretty simple and each process last at the least about 60 minutes and you can do it for up to 3 hours.

What I love about the teeth whitening process is that you can do it while doing other things. As someone who finds themselves on a very busy schedule constantly, I was able to whiten my teeth while doing my hair, getting ready for bed, cleaning, studying etc. For the most part, I would try to whiten my teeth before bed as recommended to get the best results possible. I was incredibly amazed by the results from the whitening process and would definitely recommend it to anybody who has been struggling to find a teeth whitening process that works that also doesn't clear out their bank account.

What are the benefits of Smile Brilliant? Besides the fact that Smile Brilliant worked on my stained teeth, I also love how affordable it is compared to other whitening processes As a College Student on a budget, it's a really affordable option in comparison to the $500+ amount that most dentists charge and it's definitely better than trying to take the routes of whitening strips and activated charcoal since they're more likely to fail than whiten. And if Smile Brilliant doesn't work for you, there is a refund guarantee!

Strolling in Eyelet

Hey Everyone! This past weekend I took a trip to Mackinac Island for the first time with my grandpa, cousin and aunt! The weather in Ohio has been so hot so it was nice to get away to some nice cool weather. Mackinac Island is located in Michigan along right in Lake Huron and is one of the prettiest and unique places I've ever been! I'm working on a recap post of my trip and I can't wait to share it! Since the weather was in the 50's to mid 60's, I opted for wearing some of my favorite outfits for Spring weather. On our last day, we decided to see some of our favorite spots before leaving including some of the shops, the Grand Hotel (which is absolutely gorgeous!), and we went on a small bike ride! The weather was so incredible and it was the perfect way to end the trip.

I wore my favorite Lilly skort that is so comfortable with a scallop camisole from J. Crew Factory. This camisole is one of my favorite spring and summer staples because it goes with all my favorite shorts and can be dressed up or down. I paired it with a denim jacket from J. Crew factory a few years back (linked an identical one from madewell!) since the weather had a little chill to it. And of course since I dockside, I had to wear my favorite KJP jewelry including my favorite necklace, gold rope anchor bracelet and Atlantic pearl bracelet in Navy! To top off the outfit I wore my favorite statement sunglasses from Kate Spade and the cutest pair of bow shoes from Target that are under $25! Enjoy!

So excited to find the market on the island had my favorite ginger ale! And how cute are these shoes?!
